DWD38 Harsh Duty Optical Encoder


DWD38 encoder: draw works threaded shaft with field replaceable adapters for reduced downtime, dual isolated outputs available for redundancy, anodized aluminum or stainless steel housing, 400G shock and 20G vibration independently validated. The draw works encoder allows for multiple encoders to be added to a draw works machine. The stainless steel 1/2″ NPT hubshaft can be used to stack up to five dual IS encoders thereby supplying feedback to ten control or measurement devices on a drill rig. The entire package is hardened to live up to the rigors of the roughneck’s job.  Application: Drawworks Drum Applications.

    HD25 Hazardous Duty Optical Encoder

    The HD25 Harsh-Duty Optical Encoder is identical to the HD20 but larger in size and capable of a higher resolution. It is ideal for machine applications with corrosive environments that demand stringent wash-down environments, including those where high pressure steam or caustic chemicals are needed to meet regulatory requirements. This compact, special-duty encoder is designed to exceed IP66/IP67 and NEMA 6 enclosure requirements with a PPR range through 3600. ATEX certification is also available for intrinsically safe applications (refer to Hazardous Duty HD25). Application: Top Drives, Iron Roughnecks, Wireline, Logging, Coiled Tubing, Cementing and Fracing/Blenders; Converting Machinery; Material Handling; Packaging Equipment; Pickling Equipment; Processing Equipment; Length measurements; Motor and drive speed feedback; Cut-to-length (textile, paper, wood, metal, rubber, plastics, etc.); PLC’s and electronic counters.
